Clarinet Trio to be performed

Douglas Anderson’s Trio for Clarinet, Cello and Piano will be performed at 3 pm on Sunday, June 2, by the di.vi.sion Clarinet Trio at the Riverdale Presbyterian Church in Bronx, NY.  This work is a seminal example of Anderson’s early experiments with ordering in serial music, which was the topic of his doctoral dissertation.  It will be included in his upcoming album of chamber music Music in Diverse Styles, to be released this fall by Parma Records.  The program will also include Haydn’s Piano Trio in d minor, Hob XV:23; Beethoven’s Duet No. 3 for Clarinet and Bassoon, WoO 27; John Newell’s “On the Way”for Piano Trio, and the premiere of Anderson’s Three Meditations on “Hope” for solo piano.
